The Higley Band program is a great way to find a large community of people for you the moment you step into high school. Everyone here has similar interests and goals in mind, and will be around every day to build you up to success. There is so much more in this program besides community that will also build you up, and you will find that success comes easier in this program than others.

The Band Program has given me so much over the last 4 years that I have been here. This program has taught me things such as discipline, time management, and social skills. I really owe the directors for everything they have done for me, too many things to list off. Making music and having fun with some of the best people I know will always have a special place in my heart, and I wouldn’t trade the experience I have had at this program for anything else.

Being part of the high school band has been one of the most impactful experiences of my life. I met a lot of new people and made a lot of new friends. It taught me the value of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. As long as I can remember, the Higley band program has been a part of my life. Even before I was a student here, my dad taught here, so I would still come and meet all the students, who were great. They pushed me to join band and be a part of things. Because of band, I’ve been able to go so many places and do so many things. The band program has given me a way to express myself through music, make all these friends that I get to share these experiences with, and to be a better person all around.

The Higley Band program for me is not just an extracurricular that I take to get the credits but a home. I have been in this program for all 4 years of high school and I can truly say this the place where everyone belongs. I have been able to learn and strive in this program miles beyond what I believed. With the support of Mr. Sharp and Mr. Cheatham I grew into the person I now am and will forever be. Through this home I have meet my best friends who I will continue to talk to once I have left this decorated program. The Band Program has brought countless memories which I could recall for hours and hours. I truly thank this outstanding elective for my love for high school. As I am almost finished, I can say with a full heart, I will miss these days and will always remember the home I once had. That is what the band program means to me.
