Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the top performance band on campus. Comprised of our best musicians, this group is provided with an opportunity to work on a higher level of musicality. A wide range of musical forms and styles are played throughout the year.  Auditions are held during the Spring semester.  Chair auditions take place at the beginning of the school year. Wind Ensemble performs significant literature, which includes original works; performances are both on and off campus,  as well as at music festivals. 

Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band strengthens student performance as they continue their instrumental studies. Symphonic Band is a stepping-stone to bridge Concert Band and Wind Ensemble so that 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students can perform higher level music without the demands of an audition. Highly-motivated incoming 9th grade students are encouraged to audition for Symphonic Band during their 8th grade Spring semester.  Students will demonstrate their skills at concerts and music festivals through the year.

Concert Band

The Concert Band is comprised of 9th grade instrumentalists who have the desire to participate in a complete concert organization.  The repertoire consists of well-known and varied works for concert band.  The Concert Band performs several concerts throughout the year and at music festivals.  Students are encouraged to audition for Wind Ensemble during the Spring semester.

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band provides an opportunity for advanced-level students to learn about and perform jazz literature. Emphasis is placed on improvisation, lead playing, different styles, rhythm, and syncopation. Auditions are required, and the class size may be limited to allow more teacher contact and the ability to develop an extensive repertoire. This group performs challenging music and is sought after as a performing group.

Percussion Ensemble

The Percussion Ensemble focuses on the core techniques of timpani, bass drum, snare drum, keyboard instruments, and auxiliary instruments.  In addition to performing their own pieces at concerts, the Ensemble also accompanies the Concert Band and Symphonic Band.
