Congratulations to all of our students for making it through their first days of the 2026-2027 School Year! We hope that everyone is getting plenty of rest this weekend in preparation for the first full week of classes. Special shout-out to our Clarinet Section (see photo): the Clarinets were voted "Most Spirited Section" for the spirit days the week of band camp. Their picture will be up in the band room until another section is awarded "Most Spirited Section" at the end of our Fall Break Band Camp.

Some important details to note:

• Shoe & Glove Order: This past Friday the shoe and glove order was due, so hopefully everyone that needs shoes and gloves completed their order. If you missed it please initiate the order on the BoosterHub Store and also reach out to Laurel Baker - HIA Treasurer in BH.
• SECTIONALS: The start of August also brings in the start of Sectionals. Sectionals are a grade to show individual/section work outside of rehearsal. These dates are not mandatory; however, to receive a grade students must be in a submitted video. Dates are currently in the calendar and all information about sectionals can be viewed here.
• CALIFORNIA MARCHING BAND TRIP: Please attend our info meeting on Tuesday (8/11) at 5:30pm in the Media Center. The CA trip is highly encouraged for all marching students, but is not required. If your student is going, make sure to login to your InTouch account, search "Items at all Schools," and select the "Marching Band California Trip."

Upcoming Marching Band Dates:

• Tuesday (8/4): No Marching Rehearsal; HHS Curriculum Night 5pm-8pm
• We had our Marching Meeting back in May; however, if you have any questions about the season or would like to say "Hi" to the directors you are welcome to swing by between 7:40pm - 8:00pm.
• Saturday (8/8): Unform Fitting 8am-12pm / Senior Banner Photos 8am-10am / DCI Viewing 5:30pm-8:30pm (Specific details will be sent out next week)
• Tuesday (8/11): Marching Band CA Trip Info Meeting 5:30pm-6:30pm in HHS Media Center (Normal Marching Rehearsal to follow)
• *NEW CALENDAR ADDITION* Saturday (8/15): CA Trip Carwash- 7:30am-10:30am @Higley HS. More details soon to follow.
• *NEW CALENDAR ADDITION* Friday (8/21): Varsity Football Pep Rally. Time TBD (Likely late afternoon/early evening)

Please make sure students are arriving to rehearsal at least 10-15 minutes so they can get setup before attendance. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help support our Marching Students as classes start to pickup!
